The reception is going to be at Ye Olde Plough House in Bulphan. We will be dining in 'The Monks Barn'. The Barn was originally built about 1650 at Dennington in Norfolk. All the timbers were numbered, dismantled and were made ready for reconstruction and now stand proud in the grounds of Ye Olde Plough House.

The Plough house is also a motel, and twin rooms start from £55 a night. They even have 2 bridal suites that you are welcome to stay in!

It is about a 30 minute drive from the church to the Plough House. A map can be found here.

Their website which contains details of booking rooms as well as other information can be found here.

St John the Baptist is a beautiful church, and can be found on the High Road, in Buckhurst Hill.

There will be more information regarding directions nearer the time, but for now, you can follow this link to a map of the church.

If you would like to see directions to the church you can print them off for yourselves here (this sheet can be found in your invitations).

Here is the close up map, in all its glory:

If you would like to plan your own journey, you can use several different web sites. Two of the most popular are AA routeplanner or Multimap. Your destination postcode should be IG9 5RX.

As mentioned in the directions, parking is available on the High Road, Russell Road or Church Road. It would be best to reserve parking in the church car park for those involved in the service or those with mobility difficulties. The High Road is quite busy, so Church Road and Russell Road are ideal places to park.

The Gift List Explained

We have decided to use several different companies for our gift list. This is for several reasons. The most important of these being that some of the items that we would like are fairly traded, or energy saving. As Christians we believe that we should be ethical consumers, and we want that to reflect in our choices of gift for our wedding. It might have been simpler to use just one company, but we felt that it was important enough for us to inconvenience you slightly. We hope you don't mind too much!

The gift list:

John Lewis:
You can buy gifts from John Lewis by visiting their website, or you can lick on this link to go straight to the gift list section. Here you can either enter our surnames (which you should know!) or the gift list number, which is: 231206.

More gift list options will be appearing soon, but our main gift list will be with John Lewis. To see the gift list you can either go to your local John Lewis or visit their website. Or you can click on this link to go straight to the gift list section. Here you can either enter our surnames (which you should know!) or the gift list number, which is: 231206. However, the gift list will not be opened until 6 weeks before the big day, and then for 2 weeks after. So although you may have to wait a little while before you can buy us a present, at least you will be able to buy us another one after the wedding as a result of having such a fantastic time!
